Sam Osher established Sam's Place in Biddeford, Maine in 1921. Harold Cowen purchased the business in 1962 and it stayed in Biddeford until 1969 when he moved it to 240 Main Street in Saco, Maine. When Harold passed, his widow Bella Cowen, ran the family business. Many tri-city homeowners trusted Bella's flawless interior design. In the early 1980's, Bella's son Bernard forsook New York City to become her Store Manager. In January, 2009, Bella sold the business to Kathryn and Michael Garrity who continued to keep the original name, Sam's Place.
James Cotsis joined Sam's in 2006 and continues as the custom framer and resource for all things artistic.
